Going home from the Kayford Mine, Bethlehem Mining Corporation, Cabin Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia

Cabin Creek was the site of battles between the miners' union and the coal operators in the early years of the 20th century. Mary Harris Jones, known as Mother Jones, remains a hero to this day, in part for her courage as a strike leader when she was 84 years old, during the bitter 1912-1913 strike on Cabin Creek.
